International buffet restaurant Congress Plus presents “Eatcation 2.0 - Classics Re-creation” dinner buffet

(24 May 2022) International buffet restaurant Congress Plus located on the fourth floor of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is bringing back its Eatcation series followed by its success from last Summer, with a brand-new “Classics Re-creation'' themed buffet. Available from 1 June 2022 onwards, Congress Plus has joined hands with long-standing coconut confection brand, Yan Chim Kee. The Holiday Lunch Buffet on Sunday and Public Holiday has also been given a fresh look with an array of new dishes that showcase the best flavours to offer.

Congress Plus offers Asian and international fare that are creatively designed using a selection of premium ingredients presented at “live cooking” stations by award winning chefs. With an undisturbed 270º view of Victoria Harbour and open counters that oozes a sense of airiness and brightness, guests can embark on a delectable journey while overlooking the city skyline from ceiling to floor windows.

“Eatcation 2.0 - Classics Re-creation” Dinner Buffet
“Classics Re-creation” dinner buffet draws inspiration from well-loved classic dishes around the world with a twist. Headlining the menu are the carvery live station, with three meat dishes on rotation daily each with an ode to its place of origin. From the American staple Slow Roasted Prime Beef Rib with dry ageing technique that intensifies flavours to the quintessentially British Beef Wellington with a twist of smoked duck and Roasted Lamb Rack taking up a notch with a savoury salted egg yolk crust.

The chilled seafood station remains the popular corner of the buffet. Boasting a selection of crustaceans and shellfishes, like the Chilled Canadian Boston Lobster, Poached New Zealand Mussels, Brown Crab, and Sea Whelk.  A wide variety of freshly caught sashimi, like scallops, salmon, hamachi and octopus are also available.

Health-conscious eaters can pick from chef’s inspired salads such as the Thai Style Shrimp and Pomelo Salad with Caramel Sauce and Smoked DuckTossed Peach and Fig with Sherry Vinaigrette and Salted Baked Beetroot with Kale, Feta Cheese and Walnuts.

Hot Western dishes like Braised Lamb Osso Bucco with Root Vegetables, Pan Fried Barramundi with Lemon Butter and Popped Capers and Baked Oysters in three ways (Rockefeller, three-cheeses and garlic-herbed crumbs) are crowd-pleasers amongst meat aficionados.

laksa noodle bar featuring the best of Malaysia is on the offer. With a plethora of choices like fish cakes, shrimp, mussel, baby cuttlefish and shredded chicken, the spicy and fragrant broth is freshly made with aromatics, shrimp paste and coconut milk.

Take a trip down memory lane with the long-standing coconut brand Yan Chim Kee and selected savoury dishes enriched by the authentic coconut products. Sink your teeth with Indian classic Stir-fried Coconut Curry Shrimp and a tantalising Indonesian Style Taliwang Pork Neck. The chefs at Congress Plus also pay homage to the finest of classic desserts with an added twist, like Fermented Tofu Cheesecake and Salted Egg Yolk Caramel-Coconut Cake.

Other noteworthy desserts using nothing but true to classic recipes include the Tiramisu, featuring the “father” of tiramisu Roberto Linguanotto’s original recipe, the Seasonal Fruit Napoleon, the American Brownie is made using the iconic recipe of 1893 Palmer House from Chicago and chocolate lovers ought not to miss out the indulgent French dessert Chocolate Fondant with an ode to Michel Bras.
