International buffet restaurant Congress Plus presents “Flavours of Australia” dinner buffet, an Ode to Australia’s fresh homegrown produce

(10 July 2023) International buffet restaurant Congress Plus located on the fourth floor of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre welcomes mid-summer with “Flavours of Australia” dinner buffet. Available from 12 July 2023 until 30 September 2023, the buffet is an ode to Australia’s freshest homegrown produce, celebrating hotter months with all-you-can-drink selected Australian wines and beer as well as other culinary offerings specially designed for this promotion.

The restaurant will be transformed into popular Australian landscapes, including sandy beaches and dense forests, with iconic landmarks featuring alongside famous Aussie mascots like kangaroos, koalas and alpacas around the buffet counters and dining area.

During the promotion period, patrons who follow Congress Plus Instagram account (@congressplus_hkcec), share a photo of their dining experience at Congress Plus and tag @congressplus_hkcec and hashtag #CongressPlus_Wanchai on Instagram will receive a cutesy iconic koala bear clip-on or a thirst-quenching special drink Blue Lemonade for free with terms and conditions apply.

Australia is known for its fine fresh produce of world-acclaim, so kick off the glorious buffet spread with a bountiful chilled seafood selection. Highlighted items include freshly-shucked Australian Oysters served with ginger-ponzu spied tobiko or a spiced yuzu mignonette, Poached Kinkawooka Mussels with local tomato salsa, while crustaceans and shellfish like Chilled Canadian Boston Lobster, Snow Crab Legs and more remain popular items amongst seafood lovers.

Live cooking stations feature lip-smacking meat dishes on rotation such as Slow Roasted Grain Fed Australian Mb2+ Prime Beef Rib and succulent Dukkha Dusted Australian Lamb Rack will feed carnivorous diners to their heart’s content. Of course, a true Australian meal is not complete without a sizzling barbie featuring lamb chops, sausage sizzle, prawns and pork chops.

Health-conscious eaters can feast on wholesome salads like Australian Avocado, Quinoa, Crispy Kale Salad with Finger Lime Dressing and Victoria Sous-Vide Chicken, Charred Corn and Pomegranate Vinaigrette. Diners can also beat the summer heat with the fancy Beetroot and Gin Cured Tasmanian Ocean Trout and Marinated Tasmanian Salmon served with a tangy mango purée.

The down under dining experience is elevated with hot Western dishes such as Slow Cooked Australian Beef Cheek and South Australian Shiraz Braised “Luv A Duc” Leg Ragu, using nothing but only authentic Australian products. Southeast Asian delights like the Tandoori Barramundi and Thai Red Curry Coconut Blue Mussels will leave diners wanting more. Cuisines hailing from other countries are also available to satiate palates of discerning foodies.

A toast to Australia is not complete without signature Aussie sweet treats reimagined, such as bite-sized traditional Lamingtons coming in pandan custard, coconut cremeux and roasted peanut flavours, irresistibly sinful Tim Tam Brownies and indulgent Australian Honey Burnt Butter Crunch with Salted Caramel. Guests seeking a sharp but sweet treat will fell in love with our tart Summer Pavlova with Passionfruit at first bite, while the Plum Black Forrest in the form of a 3D koala will be a sure hit for the children and kidults alike.
