Featuring a refreshed menu and sophisticated new interior, the restaurant offers a revitalised dining experience that celebrates the rich diversity of regional Chinese cuisines.
Under the culinary leadership of Chef Ng Cheung-kong, Head of Chinese Culinary Operations of Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited who brings over 30 years of culinary expertise, the curated menu highlights dishes that is an ode to the chefs’ skilful culinary craftsmanship.
“Our goal is to create a menu and dining environment that both honours culinary heritage with fresh ideas, crafting dishes that embody artistry and innovation with rich traditions, redefining traditional Chinese cuisine” said Chef Ng. “We look forward to sharing new flavours and experiences with our guests.”
Seating up to 170 guests, the newly renovated dining space showcases warm, neutral hues blended with traditional Chinese design elements. With floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the bustling concourse and harbour view, the main dining area creates a vibrant yet tranquil space. A striking lotus pond feature wall adds a natural touch that goes hand in hand with the restaurant’s contemporary aesthetics. The spacious layout and enhanced lighting create a comfortable ambience for both casual and formal gatherings. For added exclusivity, The Atrium Chinese Restaurant offers four elegant private dining rooms, perfect for intimate celebrations or business entertainments.
Celebrate Rich Diversity of Regional Chinese Cuisines
Headlining the main menu are the eight recommended dishes from the chef, including Daliang Style Stir-fried Milk and Egg White with Assorted Seafood (HK$208), one of Chef NG’s signature dish that exemplifies mastery of traditional Chinese cuisine with a modern twist. This delicately crafted Shun-de dish involves meticulous preparation with milk poured into a scorching hot wok, continuously stirred and flipped to achieve a silky and delicate texture. Adding shrimp and scallop for an elevated flavour, it perfectly complements the creaminess of the milk.
A celebration to Hakka cuisine, the Hakka Crispy Chicken with Scallion Oil (Half: HK$258; Whole: HK$488) features a golden crispy-skinned chicken with tender and juicy meat, served atop Chef NG’s fragrant secret-recipe scallion oil. Deboned for convenience and garnished with spring onions and crispy shallots, this dish is simple yet flavourful. A must-try from the chef’s recommendations.
Originated from Zhejiang, Yunnan Ham in Osmanthus Glaze served with Steamed Sweet Potato Bun and Bean Curd Sheet (HK$88 per person, min. 2 persons) is traditionally served with a bun “Mantou” in white colour. Chef presents it with a modern twist by adding sweet potato sauce, making the bun in romantic purple colour while keeping the unique argyle pattern. Pairing with the tender shank part of Yunnan Ham, local honey added with osmanthus glaze, and a freshly baked crispy bean curd sheet, the dish is definitely a must try item on your next visit.
Other highlights include the Steamed Whole Lobster with Pickled Garlic (HK$688). The lobster is topped with pickled garlic, known for its tangy unique flavour originated from northern China, along with diced bell pepper, tomatoes and winter melon. The dish is then steamed to perfection with a drizzle of soy sauce to enhance its umami flavour, allowing natural sweetness of the lobster to shine through.
The refined Pan-fried Local Pork Jowl with Compressed Melon and Balsamic Vinegar (HK$248) showcases low carbon and sustainability with local produce – Hong Kong Heritage Pork. The pork jowl is marinated in honeydew melon juice and apple cider vinegar to enhance its delicate flavours. Vacuum-sealed with honey overnight, the melon adds sweetness and texture, while a dallop of balsamic vinegar offers a perfect harmony of richness and freshness.
