(8 August 2022) International buffet restaurant Congress Plus located on the fourth floor of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre welcomes mid-summer with “Kanpai to Summer” dinner buffet. Available from today onwards until 30 September 2022, the buffet is an ode to Japan’s vibrant summer festivals, celebrating hotter months with all-you-can-drink Otokoyama sake, a bespoke sake cocktail, and other culinary offerings specially designed for this promotion.

Headlining the menu is the eye-catching sake bar decorated with lanterns and sakura branches, where it serves free-flowing Otokoyama sake in warm or cold, and a pink-hued thirst quencher Sake Sunshine concocted with sake, lychee syrup and soda water. An alcohol-free special drink Dream Green made with green tea, yuzu jam and lime juice is also on the offer for teetotalers. The dinner buffet also provides unlimited selected house wine, beer and orange juice.

Live cooking stations features sake-infused dishes like the lip-smacking Teriyaki-Sake Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs, sizzling Teppanyaki King Prawn with Yuzu Chilli Sauce drizzled with a dash of sake to finish and Sake Steamed Local Clams with Pasta cooked up in a parmesan cheese wheel.

Beat the summer heat at the chilled seafood station, where it boasts a selection of crustaceans and shellfishes, like the Chilled Canadian Boston Lobster, Poached New Zealand Mussels, Brown Crab and Sea Whelk.  Elevate your dining experience with a wide variety of sliced upon order sashimi like scallop, red shrimp, salmon, hamachi and octopus, coupled elegantly with light and floral flavours of the Otokoyama sake.

A toast to Japan is not complete without Robatayaki and Tempura where guests can select from an assortment of meat and vegetables including pork belly, asparagus, eel and enoki mushroom. Guests can also tempt their taste buds with the appetizing Okinawa Style Pork Stew, Sautéed Chicken with Wafu-Shoyu Soy Sauce or stay cool in the heat at the Iced Soba Noodles Bar. Cuisines hailing from other countries are also available to satiate palates of discerning foodies.

End your meal on a sweet note with sake-infused desserts for example Yellow Chestnut and Sake Mousse Cup and Chocolate and Sake truffle Ganache Tarte. Other drooling desserts like Amasake and Lemon Pudding, Mocha Cotton Cheesecake and “Summer Galette Des Rois” – Almond Cream and Hojicha Ganache will leave you wanting more.

The “Kanpai to Summer” dinner buffet is available from Wednesday to Sunday, eve of Public Holiday and Public Holiday from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. It is priced at HK$758 for adults, HK$658 for elderly aged 65 or above, and HK$458 for children aged between 7 and 11. Children aged 6 or below are free of charge. Each paying adult is entitled to bring one child aged 6 or below for free. Congress Plus will charge the price for children aged between 7 and 11.

On Wednesday and Thursday, enjoy 20% off for four patrons or more when the bill is settled using consumption voucher scheme payments*; or 15% off on Friday to Sunday, eve of Public Holiday and Public Holiday. Prices are subject to 10% service charge (based on the original price).
