(20 Nov 2018) This Christmas, approach Congress Plus at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) through a walkway of gingerbread and enter a wonderland of international festive delicacies. The HKCEC’s New Shanghai is also preparing a Festive Brunch to celebrate the season and give guests some “Christmas Family Fun”!

Aromas of ginger and cinnamon will greet visitors to Congress Plus as they pass through the gingerbread walkway to a Christmas buffet loaded with an astounding variety of festive fare. Children aged 6 and below can enjoy the buffet free of charge! Begin the culinary adventure with appetisers such as House Smoked Tassie Salmon with Mustard-Dill Potato Salad, Pickled Radish and Keta Pearls and Caramelized Peach, Parma Ham and Mozzarella Salad – or try the tempting Shallot Stoneware Pork Terrine.

After that, it’s time to savour any or all of the delicious range of hot dishes on offer. The Wagyu Beef Stewed Oxtail, with wagyu beef imported from Australia, is braised in red wine with vegetables and onions overnight, making for extra tender meat and a savoury sauce. Of course, Christmas Turkey is a not-to-be-missed item at this festive season! Served on Christmas Eve and at the Christmas Day Dinner Buffet, the turkey is expertly roasted for 6 hours and served with perfectly matched herbed stuffing and drunken chestnuts. 6 Hour Roasted Prime Rib is another traditional festive dish, with prime rib from the USA that is roasted to perfection. The festive theme continues with the irresistible Burnt Honey, Pineapple and Clove Glazed Ham, exuding a delicate aroma of honey. Signature international seafood delicacies include freshly Shucked Oysters, Canadian Lobsters, Snow Crab Legs, New Zealand Green Mussels and more.

A fine selection of festive desserts makes for the perfect finish to any Christmas feast. High on the must-try list is Christmas Log Cake, a twist on the traditional log cake roll – including growth rings, chocolate frosting leaves and crushed pistachios resembling moss. Other alluring traditional treats include Melted Snowman, a beautifully crafted white chocolate mousse, Fruit Mince Pies, Stollen, and the classic Christmas Bomb Alaska, served on Christmas Eve and at the Christmas Day Dinner Buffet.

Congress Plus, with its premier views across Victoria Harbour, is the perfect venue for the Countdown Sparkling Party on 31 Dec 2018. Welcome in the new year with your family and friends and enjoy the spectacular fireworks with the scrumptious dessert buffet with free unlimited supplies of sparkling wine, selected house wine and orange juice. Restaurant guests will have access to an exclusive viewing area in Golden Bauhinia Square where they can enjoy the panoramic harbour views and stunning firework display.

New Shanghai is also embracing the festive season with its Festive Brunch on 24-25 Dec 2018 that includes exquisitely prepared Shanghai style dishes. Santa Claus will also make an appearance at the restaurant on 25 Dec 2018 and give out gifts for the children.
