Following the successful appearance in 2018 the HKCEC buddy "ExhiBit" made a return to the Hong Kong Book Fair 2019, along with 53 green ambassadors. They all shared the message of waste separation and recycling with visitors and exhibitors. Mr Edwin Lau, founder and executive director of The Green Earth had earlier conducted an environmental awareness seminar for the green ambassadors, explaining the mission and recycling measures that would be in action at the fair.

Thanks go to the many exhibitors who supported the separation of plastic and paper book packaging into separate recycling trays.

ExhiBit took time to visit Food@Hall 5BC and encourage visitors to empty containers before putting them into the relevant recycling bins for plastic bottles, glass bottles and aluminum cans.   As well as the existing water fountains located inside exhibition halls and in meeting room corridors, water stations were also set up within Food@Hall, allowing visitors to refill their own bottles for free.
