Hong Kong students got the opportunity to develop creative ideas for reducing plastic waste in a competition recently organised by HML. The "Plastic-Less Planet" HKCEC Graphics and Video Creative Design Competition was aimed at fostering students' and public awareness of plastic reduction. This initiative builds on the achievement of cutting out of plastic straws and disposable cutlery at the HKCEC.
Primary students were invited to create a two-dimensional graphic design for the cover of a reusable meal box, while secondary school students were invited to create a short video to promote the message of "Think Before Plastic".
The winners, with their parents and teachers, attended an award presentation ceremony on 18 May, and enjoyed a tour of the green facilities back-of-house. Mr Edwin Lau, Founder and Executive Director of Green Earth was invited to share tips on reducing plastic usage in daily life.
It was wonderful to see the reaction of the winner, and their parents, in each category see the final products: the print ad published in a local newspaper and the specially produced lunch box. HML sends congratulations to these students, as well as a big thank you and well done to all the finalists.
