Smart Technology – and Even Smarter People

HKCEC's 33rd Anniversary Cocktail Reception (video only)

Two weeks ago we celebrated the HKCEC 33rd anniversary. I like to think of the HKCEC in terms of being "33 Years Young". In a city with an ever-changing skyline, HML has worked hard to ensure the venue remains as fresh, functional, beautiful and relevant as ever.

Our enthusiasm in embracing smart technology, including robots, has certainly enhanced our operation efficiency. But what has truly made a difference is that our team members do what no robots can do, and do it with more energy and innovation than many other humans in our industry.  I'm happy to share with you our new short video "Beyond Smart" under HML's update.

Our commitment to continuous enhancement and service excellence has won the HKCEC and HML a number of awards in different areas in the last fiscal year: eight awards in the Hong Kong International Culinary Classic 2021 and the Grand Award at the SDG Achievements Awards Hong Kong 2021. Our anti-epidemic efforts and commitment to motivating event organisers to ensure a safe environment has brought us a few accolades at the Business Resilience & Community Contribution Awards 2021, organised by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, just to name a few. Just at the time of writing, the HKCEC was once again being voted as the Best Convention Centre (North Asia) at the M&C Asia Stella Awards 2021, the second time in the row. We were also named Exhibition Venue of the Year – Hong Kong at the 2021 APAC Business Awards, and attained the Certificate of Excellence at the Hong Kong Sustainability Award 20/21.

Thanks to my young, energetic and innovative team and the continuous support from all of you.

Finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a joyous holiday season with your family and friends, and here's to a prosperous new year!

Yours sincerely,

Monica Lee-Müller
