The HKCEC Five-year Advancement Plan kicked off in 2019, and work is now well underway. The HK$1 billion (US$128 million) project involves mega-scale renovations of a variety of the HKCEC’s facilities and infrastructure, being undertaken in stages throughout the five-year period. The initiative provides HML with the perfect opportunity to improve and share success with business partners, members of staff and the Hong Kong community at large.

When completed in early 2024, users of the HKCEC will enjoy an even more comfortable, efficient and safer environment. The new facilities also contribute to energy and water conservation efforts. New carpets, for example, will give the Convention Hall and Convention Foyer a fresh feel, while refurbishments to toilets and ancillary services will bring added well-being and convenience to fairgoers' experience. In addition, audio systems, air handling units, water pipes and fire services installations will be upgraded. As well as new carpets, operable partitions and wall fabrics will be replaced also.

Already completed is the set-up of 5G infrastructure. It is available throughout the HKCEC, and all visitors to the HKCEC from around the worldwide can now enjoy this ground-breaking service.
