There's no business like showbusiness, as the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) can attest. Now in its 23rd year, this event is the ultimate in connecting major players in the film and TV world, attracting more than 8,700 trade visitors in 2018 – over nine percent more than the previous year.
FILMART is well known for its series of events, including new film launches, networking activities and professional seminars, all of which help generate valuable connections in the industry. There were more than 300 screenings at last year's FILMART, including over 100 world, international or Asia premieres and numerous award-winning productions.
FILMART serves as a two-way bridge between the East and the West, providing an excellent platform for industry players to tap on the gigantic Chinese mainland market, while also enabling Chinese filmmakers, television programme makers and animation industry players to promote their productions to buyers from both mature and emerging markets, especially from Asia.
