Chocoholics Indulge Sweet Passion
There was just one place for chocoholics to be in July – and that was HKCEC, which hosted the world's largest chocolate event for the first time in Hong Kong.
Members of the public were able to mingle with professional chocolatiers, pastry chefs, cocoa producers, distributors and retailers at the show, which celebrated everything chocolate by highlighting the creativity and diversity of this sweet sector. As well as featuring premium brands, including makers of fine chocolate from Belgium, France and Italy, the salon featured the first-ever Chocolate Fashion Show, a Chocolate Sculpture Zone, and workshops for adults and kids. The fashion event showcased dresses that were a collaboration between fashion design graduates and top-class pastry chefs.
As well as the established brands, the salon also put the focus on the “Bean-to-Bar” trend, featuring smaller producers that handle everything from grinding cocoa to moulding and wrapping chocolate.
