Assistant Event Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Centre’s customers in planning, coordinating and advising Centre’s event organisers including those organising small to medium exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and special events, some on an international scale
  • Utilises all previous event records during event planning in order to maximise efficiency and minimise time for both the organiser and Centre’s employees
  • Keeps accurate and detailed records of all event planning, set-up, operational and coordination details to provide reference during event critiques, customer reviews and use if event is recurrent
  • Provides event planning outlines and agendas to facilitate meetings with customers and all Centre’s departments or employees 
  • Prepares and distributes event orders, with detailed customer information and requirements, to Centre’s other operational and supporting employees
  • Maintains open and cordial relationship with customers by offering advice and adequate venue information as well as tactfully handling problems and requests 
  • Confirms customers’ satisfaction and solicits suggestions for improvement following the event; maintains a record of post-event comments, reviews and critiques for future reference
  • Provides support and assistance to Event Managers to enhance the performance in coordinating major exhibitions, conferences, special events or activities

Requirements:  

  • Degree in Business Studies, Hotel, Catering, Hospitality, Tourism and Facility Management, or related disciplines
  • At least 1 year practical event co-ordination experience in MICE industry or 3 years’ experience in customer service in a comparable industry with proven track record
  • Proven experience in project management and/or co-ordination and planning
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, decisive, with good common sense and highly customer-oriented
  • Very good written and spoken English and Chinese, Mandarin will be an added advantage
