The Atrium Chinese Restaurant basks in the festive spirit with the Year of the Golden Tiger menus

(19 January 2022) The Atrium Chinese Restaurant at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre parades into Chinese New Year with mouth-watering Year of the Golden Tiger Set Menus. Available until 28 February 2022, three auspicious set menus curated by Executive Sous Chef Kon Chu Kwong are available. An array of Chinese New Year a-la-carte dishes featuring prized ingredients best for small groups of reunions and gatherings is also on the offer. All menus are available during lunch and dinner service (subject to the latest government’s social distancing measures).

The decadent "Menu of Good Fortune" commences with delightful appetisers of Barbecued Pork, Yam with Pomelo and Honey Vinegar Sauce, Sea Cucumber with Lime, Deep-fried Bean Curd with Spicy Salt, Deep-fried Truffle Bean Curd Roll and Jellyfish Head with Spring Onion Oil. Followed by festive favourites like the nourishing Double-boiled Sea Cucumber with Matsutake Mushroom and Bamboo Pith, Baked Prawns with Sea Urchin and Supreme Soya Sauce with a fortuitous Cantonese meaning of filling the year ahead with laughter, and Braised Abalone, Dried Oysters and Goose Web with Lettuce. Other highlights include Steamed Tiger Garoupa and Crispy-fried Chicken. The meal ends on a sweet note with Chinese petit fours. The set is priced at HK$4,998 for a table of 6 persons and HK$9,998 for a table of 12 persons.

Priced at HK$4,298 (6 persons) and HK$8,588 (12 persons), the "Menu of Prosperity" offers Sautéed Scallops and Asparagus Morel Mushrooms stuffed with Shrimp Paste, Braised Bird's Nest Soup with Crab Meat, Braised Dried Oysters and Jade Melon Rings with Conpoy and Lettuce that aptly resembles to gold coins of the ancient times, symbolising prosperity and wealth. No festive meal is complete without the freshest produce from the land and sea, the sought-after Giant Garoupa in Two Styles and Crispy-fried Pigeon. The menu ends with tantalising Stir-fried Glutinous Rice with Preserved Meats.

The "Menu of Hope" is a perfect option for humble celebrations, which consists of Sautéed Shrimp with Chicken and Vegetables, Braised Bird's Nest Soup with Fish Maw and Assorted Seafood, Steamed Garoupa Fillet with Garlic and more. The menu is priced at HK$3,658 for 6 persons and HK$7,288 for 12 persons.

Upon ordering the Year of the Golden Tiger set menus, guests can enjoy unlimited supply of soft drinks and chilled orange juice at an additional HK$78 per person, while tea and water charges cost HK$22 per person.

A delectable ensemble of festive dishes is also on the offer catering to small scale reunion gatherings serving until 15 February 2022. Ideal for a group of eight, the Braised Abalone with Conpoy and Goose Web, Shrimps and Seasonal Vegetables (HK$1,328) that highlights unity and abundance, comprises abalone, fish maw, scallops and shrimps etc. Poached Spotted Garoupa with Bamboo Pith, Yam, Black Mushrooms, Celery and Rice Vermicelli (market price) is served in a casserole with sliced garoupa and other vegetables simmered in a piping hot creamy fish broth.

Other Chinese New Year favourites such as Braised Sliced Abalone and Dried Oyster with Lettuce (HK$488) and Braised Pork Knuckle with Dried Oyster with Lettuce (HK$268) will assure diners abundance and good fortune in the year ahead.

Auspicious gourmet takeaway set menus for celebrations at home
Specially crafted for a memorable stay-at-home feast, the takeaway sets feature a trio of appetisers Jellyfish with Black Vinegar, Deep-fried Truffle Bean Curd Roll and Kurobuta Pork Salad with Sesame Sauce. For main course, guests can choose among Braised Abalone with Conpoy and Goose Web, Shrimps and Seasonal Vegetables, Braised Abalone, Dried Oysters and Goose Web with Lettuce or Braised Pork Knuckle with Dried Oyster with Lettuce. The set menus come with Crispy-fried Chicken and Stir-fried Glutinous Rice with Preserved Meats. The takeaway set menu is priced from HK$1,048 (6 persons) and HK$2,096 (12 persons) with 12% off self pick-up discount.

Selective Chinese New Year dishes like Braised Conpoy with Shiitake Mushrooms (HK$348) and Baked Prawns with Sea Urchin and Supreme Soya Sauce (HK$168 per person) are available for takeaway with 10% off self pick-up discount.
