Serving Up Style

We're particularly excited to introduce the new F&B outlets - Traders and New Shanghai - both of which are scheduled to open in September, as well as the revamped Harbour Road Café, which is set to get a completely new look with an artistic twist!

Harbour Road Café, which opens this summer, will be occupying a bigger location on the ground floor at the Harbour Road Entrance. This space has the feel of a gallery, and is designed to be both a relaxing and stimulating spot to enjoy a cup of coffee, a snack - and also feast your eyes on locally produced art.

Art pieces from Hong Kong artists and thematic products will be displayed on the walls and shelves of the café. From time to time we will also invite local artists to display their work inside the café, as mini exhibitions. The café will serve Lavazza coffee, sandwiches and freshly made bread, as before, but lots of new food items will be added to the menu.

New Shanghai, on L1, will serve delicious Shanghai noodles, dumplings and cold appetizers, and will be open daily for lunch and dinner. The dˆmcor is sleek and modern, with a show kitchen where diners can see the famous Shanghai noodles being produced. The unique mood lighting has been created by a Hong Kong designer, while the walls are adorned with watercolour paintings, also from a local artist. The venue incorporates three private rooms, each seating 12 persons and featuring different dˆmcor, and an eight-person VIP room with chef's table offering the guests a close up of the cooking in action.

Traders, on L2, spans the globe from east to west. On the one hand, the menu includes a comprehensive selection of Italian dishes, including pasta, freshly made pizza from the wood oven, and antipasto, all paired with Italian wines; on the other hand it also incorporates Japanese favourites such as sushi, sashimi, freshly made tempura, robatayaki and udon, with sake also available. Local designers have worked their magic in Traders, with highlights including specially designed furniture and a unique Japanese display. The venue features an open kitchen, and has a private area for 12 diners overlooking Halls 1D and 1E.

Top Tour

Exhibition organisers were given an up-close preview of the new facilities in early April. This was an important occasion for the Centre, and our valued customers were briefed by HKCEC Managing Director Cliff Wallace, given a guided tour of the site and enjoyed a lunch reception at the Centre.
