Busy Summer in the City
Summer in the city is certainly hot for HKCEC! Things don't slow down in our fast-paced city as the list of events for August illustrates.
A total of 12 exhibitions were scheduled to take place during the month, covering a wide range of topics. Most of them are well established public shows making another appearance, while others, such as the Hong Kong International Tea Fair, are being staged for the first time.
We're sure you agree that the run down is impressive: the 11th Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong, the 7th Hong Kong International Education Expo, 2009 Hong Kong High End Audio Visual Show, 17th International Baby & Children Products Expo and 21st Hong Kong Baby Crawling Contest, Hong Kong International Tea Fair 2009, HKTDC International Conference & Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products 2009, HKTDC Food Expo 2009, HKTDC Hong Kong Lifestyle Showcase 2009, Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival 2009, 9th Homex & Household Expo 2009/Hong Kong Furniture & Furnishing Fair/Hong Kong Interior Design & Decoration Fair, 56th Fall/Winter Wedding Service & Banquet Expo 2009 and Natural Products Expo Asia 2009.
In addition to these public shows, we've got plenty of time for fun, too, at the Centre! Singer-songwriter Khalil Fong is staging his "Timeless Live in Hong Kong 2009" event here from 27-29 August, and all performances are already a sell-out.
This list is a great example of the breadth of shows that HKCEC can accommodate. The opening of our recent expansion has also enabled more shows to be staged concurrently.
Later in the year, we will be welcoming two new trade shows - 2009 GSMA Mobile Asia Congress and CineAsia 2009, in November and December respectively.
The Mobile Asia Congress will bring together some 1,000 senior industry executives from across the globe, including the decision-makers of Asian mobile operators and key players from the broader mobile ecosystem, to share strategies and visions for the future of this dynamic sector. CineAsia will see cinema owners, suppliers, film buyers and distributors come together to discuss new business and industry trends, and will feature a screening of major upcoming Asian and Hollywood films, sponsored events and seminars.
The variety of events to which the Centre plays host continues to expand, reflecting the versatility of our staff and facilities. We look forward to a busy second half of the year - and to welcoming you back soon!
