20 April 2011 - 23 April 2011
As the largest event of its kind in Asia, the HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair offers buyers a myriad of opportunities to boost their business - the 2011 edition will be attended by more than 2,000 quality exhibitors from 32 countries and regions. The show is staged at the downtown location of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is not just the venue that is convenient, but the timing too - following hot on the heels of the Houseware Fair and at the same venue is the HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, from 27-30 April 2011.
The houseware sector encompasses a variety of product categories, and for buyers' ease, the fair is divided into a number of themed zones.
‧ Green Living (New Zone): This is a zone dedicated to satisfying the demand for all types of environmentally friendly products; the suppliers here are renowned for their new ideas, innovation and ingenuity.
‧ Outdoor Living: This zone is home to suppliers that are responding to the demand for stylish and practical furniture, accessories, tools and equipment for alfresco areas.
‧ ASEAN Select: For those looking for something with a unique look, this section showcases the distinctive designs of producers from ASEAN countries, and leverages on the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.
‧ Hall of Elegance: This zone has long been one of the most popular zones at the fair, for its focus on the latest offerings from top-notch brands and designer collections. The elegant and spacious environment of this area lends itself to serious business negotiations.
‧ World of Fine Dining: A wide range of suppliers specialising in all types of bar accessories, kitchenware and tableware are gathered in this prime zone, enabling buyers to view fresh and exciting styles, designs and materials in sophisticated surroundings.
‧ Home Accents: Here is the inspiration to source unusual, imaginative and alluring decorative items for living spaces, including artificial flowers, handicrafts and other home decor pieces.
‧ Home Living: With end-consumers looking to make their homes cleaner, safer and more efficient, buyers can satisfy this demand with cleaning products & supplies, hardware & DIY and small electrical appliances, all showcased here.
World of Pet Supplies is a special highlight that showcases pet-related products and services, including a new product zone featuring “Pet Food and Supplements”.
The fair is highlighting, for the first time, sustainable design collaboration with design institutes, academies and young creative talents. This initiative focuses on concern for social responsibility and support for sustainable designs in trade fairs by testing and transforming post-fair materials such as carpets and banners into creative pieces or marketable design products. Sustainable Design Inspirations @ Green Living Zone features pieces created by talented product designers including students from Academy of Visual Arts of Hong Kong Baptist University.
Taking place at the same time and venue as the houseware event, and offering many crossover sourcing opportunities is the HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles Fair, featuring home and contract textiles, including baby, bathroom & bedroom textiles, carpets & floor coverings, kitchen & decor textiles, and upholstery & wall coverings.
