Undisputed
king of the tenors, Luciano Pavarotti lived up to his legend
when he brought his Hong Kong audience to its feet to applaud
his performance in the Centre's Hall 3 on 27 June 2001.
Making
his first appearance in Hong Kong since 1990, and after singing
with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras in Beijing's Forbidden
City, Pavarotti thrilled the 7,600-strong audience with a
programme of celebrated arias and some duets with American
soprano Cynthia Lawrence.
