Hong Kong Mode Lingerie (3-4 April 2007)

Luxury Lingerie Launch

When the world's leading lingerie and beachwear trade exhibition organiser brings its winning formula to Asia, heads are bound to turn. Organiser Eurovet is launching brand-new trade show Hong Kong Mode Lingerie at the HKCEC on 3 and 4 April, and the event promises to be both sensuous and spectacular! Bringing together top representatives of all aspects of the fashion industry, the event will feature everything from the latest fibres and fabrics to many of the world's top beachwear and lingerie brands. In addition, the event is geared up to ensure that as many opportunities for networking as possible are in place, helping anyone unfamiliar with the Asian market find the best ways in.

The organiser is expecting a strong turnout from companies who justifiably see China as one of the next big bodyfashion markets. Says a Eurovet spokesperson, "In France, women are prepared to spend 25% of their clothing budget on lingerie, but in China that figure is currently just 5%. The market potential is enormous, and this show is opening up that market like no other." The success of last year's Shanghai Mode Lingerie show by the same organiser is clear proof that bodyfashion is increasingly on the minds of Chinese women.

Hong Kong Electronics Fair - Spring Edition (14-17 April 2007)

Sparks of Success

Not content to ride on its perennial popularity as one of the biggest and most prestigious electronics fairs in Asia, the upcoming Hong Kong Electronics Fair is introducing new and exciting extras to its upcoming Spring Edition being held at the HKCEC from 14 to 17 April. Organiser the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) has responded to developments and trends in the industry by introducing new categories and beefing up some existing fair favourites. Last year's popular innovations the 'Hall of Fame', showcasing top-of-the-range brands and products, and the 'Lighting Section', focussing on the fast-changing lighting sector, are back. There's also a special focus on three areas that are taking the electronics world by storm: digital imaging, healthcare electronics, and electronic manufacturing services. Given the dynamic state of the industry, the TDC is optimistic that this year's attendance may break even last year's records, and has already confirmed the presence of some 2,300 exhibiting companies from 18 countries and regions, who will be showcasing their latest products to over 50,000 buyers.

A wonderful opportunity to access vital technology and products can be found at a concurrent event - the International ICT Expo. Featuring more than 500 information technology product suppliers and software applications developers, the Expo is categorised into eight zones: Network & Mobility, Enterprise Solutions, Linux & Open Source, Digital Living & Multimedia, E-Logistics & Retail Technologies, Home-grown Innovations, IT Outsourcing and Trade Related Services.

A series of seminars will also be held during the twin events. Industry experts will share their insights on product trends, technologies, market potential, regulations and business practices. Highlights include the International ICT Summit 2007, the Mobile Business Conference 2007, a Retail and Supply Chain Forum, a Green ICT Forum and an IT Sourcing Forum.

HOFEX 2007 (13-16 May 2007)

Hospitality at the HKCEC

HOFEX 2007 returns to the HKCEC from 13 to 16 May with another serving of its famed smorgasbord of elite restaurant services and supplies. HOFEX 2007, or to give it its full name, the 12th Asian International Exhibition of Food & Drink, Hotel, Restaurant & Foodservice Equipment, Supplies & Services, will occupy 35,000 square metres of the HKCEC, and expects to attract 1,800 participating companies from 42 different countries and regions. The area occupied by HOFEX 2007 will outstrip that of the 2005 edition of the same show by 18%, with the 2007 version occupying the Grand Hall in addition to Halls 1, 2 and 3. An event on this scale draws a wide and expectant visitor base, and this year the organiser Hong Kong Exhibition Services Ltd expects trade visitor attendance to be somewhere around the 35,000 mark. Highlights include the Tea & Coffee Village, while buyers requiring something a little stronger can make a trip to the Wine & Spirits Square. The new Spa and Wellbeing Zone will provide another area for relaxation when all the hospitality gets too much! Once again, too, the show will host some fierce cuisine competition, with the Hong Kong International Culinary Classic 2007 drawing 450 chefs from around the region.
