Summer at the Centre

By now you must have noticed that summer is well and truly here, with temperatures recently soaring into the thirties and Hong Kong's famed humidity factor kicking in with a vengeance! For some the beach is the only place to be, but for those who want a bit of extra interest and action over a long hot summer, why not consider cooling off at the HKCEC?

Yes, the air-conditioning is working perfectly here at the Centre, but besides the cool air on offer there's a superb range of fantastically 'cool' events and activities for you to enjoy. One of the highlights of the summer is sure to be the visit of Grammy-award winning superstar Whitney Houston on 28 July for a one-night-only performance. But there are plenty of other options too, especially for those with a literary turn of mind. From 30 July to 3 August, the 6th Hong Kong Comics Festival will be a major magnet drawing for those who prefer their literature with illustrations! Other great events in August include the 12th International Baby/Children Products Expo (7-9 August) for everything to do with a growing family, and the Food Expo (12-16 August) where culinary delights from around the world will be served up on a platter. And from 20 to 23 August, devotees of the computer will be delighted to find the HKCEC transformed into a grab-bag showcase for technology wares, with the high quality and affordable computer products on display in a single convenient (and cool!) location.

Finally, after all these great events don't forget that the HKCEC also offers the perfect way to relax and unwind, and to wine and dine, at its many classy restaurant outlets. For example, the Congress Restaurant has a superb new "Japanese Dinner Buffet" on offer and special promotions to go with it, right across the summer! Summer looks set to be extra special this year at the Centre.
