Centenary
Dinner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong |
When people think
of the HKCEC, often it is great food that first springs to mind. That's
because of the Centre's superb range of high-quality restaurants,
offering multiple styles of cuisine to suit all preferences. But the
Centre also has a name for itself when it comes to high-class dining
on a grand scale, as is shown by the success of two recent centenary
banquets celebrated at the venue.
On 16 May, Citigroup
held its Centennial Gala Dinner, with around 800 diners sitting
down in the impressive environs of the Grand Hall to sample a sophisticated
western-style menu. Organised by HKCEC staff with precision and
flair, this large-scale event offered fine food, smooth and efficient
service, and the wonderful ambience of the Grand Hall transformed
into a private dining room. The result was clearly a success, judging
by Citigroup's decision to book the Hall for a number of future
events.
On a larger
and more complex scale still, PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong hosted
a Centenary Dinner on 1 June for some 2,000 guests. The Grand Hall
was again the venue, where guests proceeded after cocktails to enjoy
an ambitious-and delicious-East/West fusion menu. The occasion brought
together prestigious overseas guests and retired Partners with current
Hong Kong Partners and staff, many of them very familiar with exacting
top international standards of food and service. With such sophisticated
diners under the HKCEC's care, the Centre was certainly challenged
to show its credentials. And show them it did, with standards of
care, quality and attention to detail making their mark, and PricewaterhouseCoopers
reporting that it was the best party many guests had enjoyed for
over 20 years! With that kind of feedback, it is no surprise that
the company has already booked the HKCEC for next year.
