Managing Director of HKCEC honoured by UFI

(Hong Kong, 4 November 2009)                Cliff Wallace, managing director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd. (HML), was honoured with the Gold Award at UFI’s 76th Annual Congress in Zagreb, Croatia on 30 October.

 

The award by UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, recognises extraordinary participation in and contributions made to UFI and the global exhibition industry.  Wallace was credited with his extensive knowledge of the industry and representation of its benefits throughout the world during his board and senior officer roles in UFI, including his UFI’s presidency in 2008-09.

 

“Cliff Wallace’s contributions within the exhibition industry have been enormous,” said John Shaw, UFI’s President officiating the ceremonies in Zagreb, “Exhibition organisers and venue executives to whom Cliff is an acknowledged peer consider him an iconic figure with a passion for this industry.  He is most deserving of this, UFI’s highest award.”

 

“I am honoured to receive the Gold Award from UFI, the premiere international association of the world's leading tradeshow organisers and exhibition venue operators.  The award motivates me even more to continue to work with UFI members across the globe on the further development of the industry”, said Wallace, who has been at the HML’s helm for fifteen years.  

 

Mr Wallace is an established and proven veteran with nearly fifty years in the public assembly venue industry.  He has been a Certified Facility Executive (CFE) since 1978.  He also serves as the Chairman of Hong Kong – Shanghai Venue Management (Zhengzhou) Ltd., responsible for the management and operation of the Zhengzhou International Exhibition & Convention Centre in Henan Province, PRC.
